About Me
I entered Mattersey Hall College as a student in 1982, at the age of 18. While there I completed a Bachelor’s degree with King’s College, London, and met my future wife, Caroline. Following our studies at Mattersey Hall, we moved to Newark. I served at Emmanuel Church (AoG) for seven years as Associate Pastor. During this time I also completed a Master’s degree with Nottingham University, and began lecturing at Mattersey Hall on a part time basis. We then moved to Cambridge, where I served at Tenison Road Church (AoG) for seven years as Senior Leader. I also completed a doctoral degree with Nottingham University (1995: “Is the Fourth Gospel Antisemitic?”), and took an increasing role at Mattersey Hall as a part time lecturer. In 2000 I took up a full time post as Director of Studies at Mattersey Hall, and Caroline took up the post of Office Manager. Subsequently I was appointed to the role of Vice Principal. My teaching specialism is the two main biblical languages –New Testament Greek and Biblical Hebrew – as well as New Testament studies. I have made several contributions to the Tyndale Bulletin, and am a regular reviewer for Journal for the Study of the New Testament and Expository Times. I am also the author of A Step-by-Step Introduction to New Testament Greek (2005) and an accompanying Memory Aids publication, as well as A Step-by-Step Introduction to Biblical Hebrew (2009). At present I am working on A Verse-by-Verse Introduction on the Greek text of Mark’s Gospel (expected publication, 2011). I have developed a national and international teaching ministry in various churches and other colleges, and serve on the leadership team at Langold Christian Community Church. Caroline and I have four children, two in their late teens and two in their early 20’s – Rebecca, Nathan, Daniel and Hannah. Post a CommentOops! The words you entered did not match the given text.
